Tuition Policy Logo

Tuition fees make up a large portion of our school income.  Thus, it is vital that every parent share the burden by paying their tuition on time.

As a point of information, it costs approximately $3,963.00 to educate a child here at St. Patrick School.  Quick arithmetic shows how tuition payments do not equal that cost.  We depend on the generosity of all our parishioners.  We all need to use our church envelopes on a regular basis and participate in school fundraisers.

Failure to make timely payment will result in the student’s report card withheld.  If a parent fails to pay tuition, they have broken St. Patrick School contract and the diocesan policy states that no report cards can be distributed if tuition is unpaid, and records cannot be sent to other schools.

In some instances the financial problems are for a short time.  Please contact the principal when these problems occur so that a reasonable plan can be dispensed.

To receive the parishioner rate, at least one parent must be a registered, practicing member of Saint Patrick Church.  As a member of the parish, it is expected that one is attending Sunday Mass and contributing to the support of the parish through the Sunday offering and/or volunteering in time and talent.  Otherwise, the non-participating/non-parishioner rate will be charged.

TUITION PAYMENTS

Tuition payments can be made at the school office.  In the 2006-2007 school year, you will be given a Tuition Payment Booklet.  This booklet has a payment statement for each month for 12 months.  In this way, tuition will come in on a regular basis. It should help in planning for payment of tuition.

ADDITIONAL SCHOOL FEE

In addition to the tuition cost, there is an education fee per student.  This fee will be calculated in your tuition payment.  This fee is used to purchase Religion textbooks, some consumable workbooks, science and art supplies, rental of technology material, and duplicating costs.  The fee is also used to reimburse the Diocese for legislative and marketing costs.

DIOCESE OF YOUNGSTOWN TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

All families seeking tuition assistance from the Youngstown Diocesan Catholic School Scholarship Fund must submit an official application form (available in English and Spanish) along with a processing fee payable to the private scholarship/financial aid processing service designated by the school.

When seeking assistance, parents need to complete a financial review form.  These forms are available in the school office.  After that information has been assessed by an outside source the Tuition Board will determine the amount of financial assistance that can be extended to the family to defray tuition costs.

To become eligible for receiving funds from this program, students must attend or be accepted by a Catholic school of the Diocese of Youngstown.

The deadline for submitting applications to the scholarship/assistance service is determined annually.  Applications received after the stated due date will be considered for tuition assistance if funds are available.

The funds from the Program will be paid directly to the school that the qualifying student attends.  Schools will credit the tuition accounts for those families who have been approved to receive aid for that school year.
