Thank you to all of you who have already turned in your 2008-2009 tuition contractJ Your promptness is very much appreciated. It makes our planning so much easier. If you have not sent in your contract, please consider doing so as soon as possible. . Those of you who are parishioners of St. Patrick Parish received a parishioner promise to complete. I am sure you noticed the activities listed were not accurate. You are receiving a revised promise in your folder today. Please disregard the first one. If you have already sent it in, you can redo the new one or leave the one already sent in and we will use that one. If I am confusing you, please call me (330-534-2509).

It is my pleasure to announce Linda Fette, mother of Jason in fourth grade, is our new Home and School President. Kathy Connors, mother of Greg in third grade is our new vice-president. Kim and Michael Sandy, parents of Reagan in our Kindergarten, are the back-up for the vice-presidency. We are looking forward to working with our new officers and our returning officers, Laurie Chrobak, secretary and Janine Wlodarsky, treasurer.

I offer a very special and sincere thank you to our two outgoing officers: Chris Rusk President and vice president Christine Yoder. We all appreciate your outstanding and dedicated work. Our Home and School has been very successful under your direction J

Our school nurse Mrs. Joni Humphrey has been very busy writing grants and the Home and School has been trying to raise money and seeking grants to build a playground for our students. Our goal is to have at least part of it in before school begins in august, 2008. Jason in fourth grade wanted to do his share. He asked his parents if he could approach his Aunt Laura’s Boss, Daniel J. O’Horo, and ask for a donation for the playground. Jason prepared a presentation including pictures of students playing in our parking lot at recess time. Mr. O’Horo graciously talked to Jason and donated $1000 for our playground. Thank you, Jason, for taking the initiative to do such a brave thing on your own. You are our HeroJ

This Saturday is Lunch at Antenucci’s!! We will be having a bake sale and Chinese Auction at the restaurant. We need baked goods. Please send them to school on Friday or bring them to the restaurant before 11:00. Thank you. Don’t forget to come and eat or call for take-out. Remember, all the profits go to Home and School towards the Playground Project.

Another fundraiser for the playground will be a “Chicken Cook-off” on Sunday, June 1 from 12 noon until 3pm. It will be held at the Parish Center where you can eat in or have take-out. More information will be in the next newsletter.

We are looking for about eight workers for the Chevy Center for Wednesday, June 11. This is a sold-out Carrie Underwood Concert and we will be working a big booth. Call the school if you are available to work. Thank youJ

This Friday, May 16 is a Home and School Dress Down Day for one dollar. Student Council is adding something extra to that day. Without an additional charge it will also be “Crazy Hair Day”. All styling and spraying of hair must be done at home. No spray cans are to be brought to school. Hopefully the students will have fun with this.

I am very appreciative of the parents who come to school to do lunch duty. You are very helpful. There is one reminder that I feel the need to repeat. Please if you see an inappropriate behavior, do not call the parent of the child. Tell the teacher on duty or me. It is our responsibility to take care of such matters. Parents can be offended when contacted by another parent about the behavior of their child. Thank you for your vigilance in this matter.

We still have some entertainment books that can be purchased at a great discount, just $10. Send in a note or call the office if you are interested. The Liberty Learning Center is offering “Musikidz” Music Camp for Children, Kindergarten – fourth grade. Kindergarten through second grade camp will be Monday, June 16-Friday June 20 from 9 am to 12:00. Third and fourth grade camp will run from Monday, June 23 to Friday June 27 from 9:00-12:00. Tuition is $75. You can call 330-759-6813 for more information or to enroll. You can also request a copy of the flyer from the office.

We will be holding a Kindergarten Seminar tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 6:30 for potential Kindergarten parents. If you know of a family who has a child ready to enter Kindergarten in the Fall, invite them to attend. There will be information about helping the child prepare for Kindergarten and some other helpful hints as well as questions and answers.

Our students will be going to Ursuline to see “Beauty and the Beast” tomorrow. All the teachers will be accompanying them, except Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Hanni, and me. We are attending an important OCSSAA meeting at that time. Mrs. DiTommaso will accompany the first grade. Several of our own students are part of the cast as well as many of our Alumni.
